PTCB Practice Tests

lieutenantjeneral:

Having just taken and passed the PTCE (yesterday), I thought I’d compile a masterlist of the practice tests I used. This post is a continuation of last week’s post where I recommended my favorite sites to study.

Anyway! On to the practice tests.

  1. http://tests.com: they break down the test into sections, so you can identify your weak points. I think I found this practice test the most useful overall.
  2. https://www.quia.com: a full 80 question test. Most sites only give you short quizzes, but this is one of the few longer tests I’ve found.
  3. http://www.ptcbpracticetest.com/: basic practice quizzes, nothing too special.
  4. http://www.ptcbpracticetestquestions.com/: you can take some small quizzes for free, and you can unlock a full practice test by liking them on FB/Twitter/Google Plus.
  5. https://www.pharmacyexam.com: these questions are a bit trickier than the actual test, in my opinion, but the site posts really good explanations, and it can never hurt to know extra.
  6. http://www.studyguidezone.com: not my favorite site, as they only have a single 10 question quiz. Still somewhat useful because of the good explanations, though.

Overall, I noticed most of these tests focused on drug classifications and brand/generic names. It’s definitely important to know these things, but don’t neglect other important sections! The actual test is more than just knowing drug names. Good luck!

What the signs do when you hurt them

myastrologyblog:

Aries: Go jogging, punch a wall, vent to a friend or get drunk
Taurus: Delete your number, delete you off fb, off snapchat (will still stalk you on their friend’s account and get mad every time you’re having fun)
Gemini: Write a 60,000 word novel on why you suck/ a self-help book for those who are hurting, publish it and become famous and rich
Cancer: Go through the 7 stages of grief, every hour
Leo: Tweet passive aggressive stuff & rely on their friends to back them up
Virgo: Dive into work and creature comforts and ignore you
Libra: Listen to sad music that will make them feel worse and beg all their friends to go out/spend time with them so they’re not alone
Scorpio: Say something really harsh to you that they don’t mean and secretly regret it later
Sagittarius: They will verbally annihilate you but it’ll all be true, then they’ll try and compete with you all your life making sure they’re one step ahead
Capricorn: Suffer in silence, vent to their friends, give you 50 chances then eventually blow up and start acting really really cold
Aquarius: Try and find out/understand why you did what you did, then they’ll leave and spend the time they used to spend on you on their hobbies or friends
Pisces: Create a suggestion blog on tumblr and vagueblogs about you. Gets tumblr famous

How to Get and Stay Motivated and Productive

itsjustastudyblog:

Disclaimer: These are general suggestions, you have to find what works for you.

Focus on one goal at a time

Seriously. Get a planner and schedule out small tasks for each day. Create realistic goals and stick to them.

Print your goal out in big, bold letters and place it where you will see it each day

If you see it when you wake up, you’ll remember to focus on it.

Commit publicly

Nobody likes to be embarrassed. By committing publicly, you’re more likely to pull through!

• Build anticipation

If at all possible, DO NOT START TODAY. Build anticipation for it. Wait a few days. Research it. Find others working towards the same goal you are. Read as much about it as you can, and get excited about it.

Think about the benefits

It’s very easy to get overwhelmed at all the difficulties. Remember why you’re doing this. And if you don’t know, think about if you should be doing it or not.

• Get happy

You won’t work well if you’re upset or mad. Put on some cartoons or draw or do something you like and get it done later in a better mood.

• Set rewards

Like: if I finish this assignment, I can watch an episode of my favorite show.

• Don’t check your social media first thing in the morning

Think about what you want to get done today first.

• Eliminate distractions

The way to get focused is to get rid of all those things that are distracting you.

• Have a personal system

It’s so important to find out what works for you. Start by looking at other people’s systems and go from there.

• Visualize yourself taking action

“If you can dream it, you can do it.” – Walt Disney There is truth in these words. Also try saying what you’re going to do over and over again.

Color Coding Notes 101 by aca-demia

aca-demia:

image

Tip 1: Use a limited amount of color

When I take notes I only use three colors. Two similar colors and one that is complimentary. I keep the colors limited so that it’s easy to identify key points on my notes.

image

Tip 2: Writing out your notes

I choose one of the similar colors to be my main color where I write down facts and principles. I choose the other similar color to write out starting questions. Below, I use a dark blue to write out my main notes on the right column, and the light blue for starting questions on the left column. On the right column I use the light blue for anything that needs to stand out, like important vocab.

image

I use my complimentary color (orange) for writing down names and dates.

Tip 3: Charts and graphs

For charts and graphs I use the two similar colors together, but you can always use more colors on more detailed charts, graphs etc.
